1. APPROVAL EXTENDED FOR HUECK LAVA 77-30, F30 GLAZING
The approval for the Lava 77-30 glazing Z-19.14-2049 has been granted an extension and is now valid until 20 April 2022. This means it is possible, for the first time, to combine fire doors and glazing in external walls in Germany (glazing according to national technical approvals, door according to classification report) to achieve a fire resistance rating of 30 min (F30/EI30). A so-called individual case approval is now no longer needed.
The key innovations are as follows:
- It is now possible to combine fire-resistant glazing according to DIN 4102-13 (Ü mark) with fire doors according to EN 16034 (CE mark).
- In combinations of fire-resistant glazing and fire doors in external walls, the maximum element dimension has been set at 3,450 mm.
- Changes to installation situation and their normative references for walls made of concrete, brickwork, gas concrete and sand-lime brick, as well as for stud frame constructions.
Training sessions regarding the CE mark in accordance with EN 16034, as well as in combination with fire-resistant glazing, will be provided at the end of Q3 2017.
